

Margaret Elizabeth (“Liz”) Jordan Jackson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, tutor, and friend, passed away in the early morning hours of January 12th after a brief illness. Affectionately nicknamed “Sunny” by her mother-in-law because of her bright and loving disposition, Liz will be forever missed.
Liz was born on June 28, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas to Margaret Sangster Jordan and Judge Walter Ellsworth Jordan. Liz loved sports as a child, especially riding her red bicycle and her horse. During her high school years at Arlington Heights High School, she excelled in her classes and was very proud to be part of the yearbook staff and editor.
San Antonio became home for Liz as she began her studies at Trinity University and met her future husband, Benjamin Warren Jackson. Upon graduating, she began a career in elementary education. Eventually, becoming a middle school reading specialist, she received awards and honors and was noted for her ability to “gently foster countless young minds” over her lengthy career. After retiring, Liz continued to enjoy sewing, traveling and keeping up with her many, many friends.
Liz was involved in the broader San Antonio community, where she helped to organize gatherings and parties – often contributing culinary delights. She was deeply devoted to her family and fabulous friends, all of whom will miss her profoundly.Liz and Ben enjoyed 45 years of marriage and had two beloved children, Margaret Ruth Jackson Green and Benjamin Warren Jackson, Junior. She is survived by her husband, children, two treasured grandchildren, Jackson Keppler Green and Colton Ray Jackson, her siblings, and innumerable friends.
