Throughout her 87 years she was active in the LDS Church and contributed much with her musical talents. She played both the piano and organ and directed music. She and her husband Jack were an inspiration to all who saw their love and devotion in a beautiful marriage of 66 years.
The family made their home in La Crescenta, California. After taking an early retirement, Margaret and Jack created a wonderfully productive and enjoyable life in Grants Pass, Oregon. There they shared the bounties of their lush garden with their many friends and neighbors.
Margaret loved the beauties of nature and recreated in her paintings many of the special places visited on trips throughout the U.S. and Canada. She was unwavering in her faith and set a wonderful example of hard work, diligence and perseverance. She was admired by friends and family for her strength of character and selfless service. Mrs. George resisted the disabilities of age with determination and continued the service she loved at home, at church, and in the LDS temple.
Margaret is survived by her cherished husband, Jack George; daughter, Beverly Haynes and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Barbra Jones and husband De, Jacqueline Brock and husband Dax, Daniel Haynes and wife Angie, Margaret Thueson and husband K.C.; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
