

Margaret Frances Dickson Griffin passed away at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak in San Antonio, Texas, on January 2, 2025. A faithful parishioner of Coker Methodist Church, Margaret was born March 22, 1931, in Dallas, Texas, to David Burnett Dickson and Margaret Morgan Dickson. She grew up in Dallas and Wichita Falls, Texas, attended Southern Methodist University and married the late Don R. Griffin. After moving to San Antonio in 1961, Margaret raised her family, owned and operated The Artique Gallery, an art gallery and supply shop, and furthering her education at Trinity University, began a teaching career that culminated in her serving as the registrar at Harlandale High School.
As noted, Margaret was a long-time member of Coker Methodist Church, a relationship that played a major role in her life. Margaret served her church in a number of capacities, with her favorite contribution being serving as the coordinator of excursions for the Lifelong Learning group. Through Margaret’s efforts, seniors were able to experience an enormous variety of sites and activities in the greater San Antonio metro area.
Margaret is survived by her three children, Toby Day of Manchaca, Texas, Susan Reynolds of Reno, Nevada, and Michael Griffin of Burleson, Texas, as well as seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.
