Margaret was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 19, 1925 to parents, Victoria and William Flynn. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School and lived her entire life in San Antonio. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Florabelle Maxson. Margaret is survived by, and left the legacy of family to her six children, Thomas Hansen and wife Peggy, Arthur Hansen and wife Cindy, Cheryl Babbitt and husband Jerry, Henry Hansen and wife Cindy, Victoria Tanner and husband Daryl, Peggy Zettner and husband Scott; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren (with an additional one on the way) and her nephew, James Maxson.
Margaret cherished her countless friends, which included her 82 year special friendship with Alene and Bob Boerner. Margaret was "Aunt Maggie" to their children. After the loss of her husband in 1981, Margaret traveled the world with Hank's sister, Geraldine Hansen, who passed away in 2010. Margaret was an avid card player. She was a serious bridge player and also loved to play poker with the "girls" at Independence Hill where she resided for the past 4 years. She was also a passionate fan of the Texas Longhorns and the San Antonio Spurs. Her children's fondest memories of their mom were the numerous and wonderful family gatherings she hosted. She made every holiday special and it was always about the family and friends being together. Many special memories are of the family gatherings at their lake house at Canyon Lake where countless card games would continue to the wee hours of the morning. Margaret was a devout Catholic and her love of God, family, friends, strength and independence were extremely important to her and an inspiration to her children.
The family wishes to convey special thanks to Margaret's "Guardian Angel" Ginger Nichols, the kind medical team at Independence Hill and the compassionate nurses and doctors at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital.
