

Mrs. Lander graduated from Thorndale High School in 1934, went to work in Corpus Christi, married James Allen Lander and moved to San Antonio establishing Lander's, one of the original ice houses.
Polly was predeceased by her husband James Allen Lander; brother Byron Peebles and daughter-in-law Hazel Stovall Lander.
Survivors are: son Charles Allen Lander (Genie) and daughter Diane Lander Lewallen (Jay). Grandchildren: Charles Allen Lander II of Fort Worth and Lara Marie Lander Charpentier of League City, Kerry Lewallen Salatino of Dallas and Lander Kyle Lewallen of Austin. Great Grandchildren: Charles and Lilith Lander; Hazel Jane, George, Samuel and James Locklin Charpentier; Roland and Marisa Salatino; and Parker and Kehle Lewallen. Sisters: Helen Barnes of Fair Oaks Ranch and Peggy Anders (Victor) of Houston. Also, many loved nieces and nephews.
Polly and her husband were early members of Ashbury United Methodist Church. Later she attended Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Womans Club, Huisache Garden Club, State Association of Texas Pioneers, DRT, Double Nickel Club and the Wives of San Antonio Executives Association.
