She was born April 14, 1919 in Carpenter, Texas to Leon and Agnes Ploch Kosub.
She and her husband were the owners of Surma's Bakery on Nogalitos St. in San Antonio. They started the business in 1948 and it was in the same location until 1993.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Frank Surma; children, Bob Surma and wife, Anne, Nancy Cole and husband Bob, and Cheryl Sievers and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Jennifer Schneider, Greg Surma, Jeff Sievers, Tommy Sievers, and Megan Cole; and one great grandchild, Denver Schneider.
Pallbearers will be Brad Schneider, Charlie Sievers, Jr., Greg Surma, Bob Cole, Tommy Sievers, and Corporal Jeff Sievers.
