

Margart DeSantis Tredici, age 87, of San Antonio, Texas died on Monday April 19, 2010. She was born in Monessen, PA, graduated from Monessen High School, class of 1940, and was one of the first nurses to graduate with both a Bachelor degree and a R.N. She was a graduate of Duquesne University and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA in 1945. While in training during World War II, she was a member of the Army Cadet Nurse Corps. In San Antonio, she was the chief occupational nurse at the Miller Curtain Co. She was married for over 60 years to Col. Thomas J. Tredici, USAF MC (ret). She and her husband were avid ballroom dancers. She was a dedicated supporter of the art & museum activities in San Antonio. She is survived by her husband and 3 children, Tomas Tredici, MD and wife, Carol of Temple, TX, Mia Tredici Nieman and husband, Paul of Austin, TX and Lucia Tredici, MD and Jim Conley of Phoenix, AZ and 5 grandchildren, John, Peter and Andrew Tredici and Lindsay and Laura Rose Nieman. She is also survived by her two sisters, Donna Hahn & Gloria Esposito of Monessen, PA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Christus Santa Rosa Rehabilitation Hospital and at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living for their excellent care and attention given to our wife and mother.
