She attended Alamo Heights Schools and graduated from the University of Texas, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
In 1977, she married the love of her life, William Frederick "T. Willy" Trieschmann, who passed away in 2015. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Saunders and Margaret Patterson and her husband, Bob; son, John T. Saunders, Jr. and his wife, Laurie; step-daughters, Terry Bacon and her husband, Dan and Linda Hill and her husband, Herb; fourteen grandchildren: Sandi, Chad, Clay, Jennifer, Cameron, John, Trenton, Christina, Stuart, Gracie, Spencer, Will, Josephine, and Maggie, and ten great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known as "Tita" to her grandchildren. She loved her time in Port Aransas and traveled the world collecting oceans.
She was also a lifetime lover of the arts – museums, symphonies, Broadway musicals, the opera, and poetry, which she loved to write herself. Here is an excerpt from a poem she wrote for T. Willy:
"I'm thankful for the love and the life I live, with all the joys that life can give;
And I find that I want life to go on and on until all of life's "summer" has gone,
But not without you. It's true."
The family would like to thank all the caregivers that have looked after the Trieschmann's for the last five years, especially Laura Gomez.
