Our Mother was raised on McIlvaine St. in a very loving and caring home. She attended Will Roger’s Elementary, Whittier Middle School, and Thomas Edison High School where she graduated and excelled in all curriculums, earning multiple scholarships. She loved school so much that she never missed a day, even when it came to Senior Skip Day.
She was an Insurance Agent for both Nationwide and Texas State Low Cost for many years which was nestled in the West Side of San Antonio. She loved and cared for all of her customers which became like family to her, as she was to them. She was so loved to the extent that they would go to her just to visit, talk and laugh, bring her food, and even gifts for her children. She was acknowledged for the most policies sold as well as increased retention in customers.
She had a beautiful voice and a passion for singing, especially for her Christian and 80’s music that everyone admired and loved to hear. She loved playing movie trivia to see who remembered each phrase, all in the name of fun. Her favorite movie was Urban Cowboy, which most of the phrases came from. She was a loving Christian woman who had all the faith in the world for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Her love for her family was what gave her purpose and the strength to succeed in life. She loved being a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend and most importantly a “Gamma” to her favorite little bundles of joy. She lit up every room with her contagious smile and could make everybody laugh for hours on end, no matter what was going on. Her love for her husband knew no bounds. She couldn’t wait for him to get home so they could enjoy dinner together, talk about their days, and watch their favorite shows together. Her grandchildren brought her so much happiness and energy, they were her pride and joy. They could do no wrong in her eyes. Her kids always knew dependability, love, and most importantly strength because that is what she showed them every day. She had an unbreakable bond with her siblings. They shared so many memories, love, and laughs together.
Margie was a loving, compassionate, strong, dedicated, loyal, generous and caring woman that will truly be missed, but never forgotten. As she will continue to live on through each and every individual she touched.
