Maria Esther Fisher

Maria Esther Fisher passed from this life to heaven, surrounded by loved ones, on May 30th, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas. Esther was born in Zaragoza, Spain, on May 20th, 1940. She was christened in her beloved Basilica del Pilar, and was educated at Sacred Heart in Zaragoza. She was famous for her beautiful smile and contagious laughter, and her sometimes mischievous ways. Cooking and hosting memorable gatherings was a passion she was adored for; the Fathers at her church wished her wonderful Spanish tortilla would multiply like the loaves and fishes, so it would never run out. She had a fondness for music and travel, and was a devout and prayerful person. She was full of love and affection for all those blessed enough to know her, and was devoted to her loving family. Esther is survived by her husband and love of 53 years, Jerry Fisher, son Jerry Fisher Jr. and Melissa Fisher, and daughter Esther Jean (Jeannie) Wright and Bill Wright; grandchildren Meghan Esther Wright, Adam Fisher, Christopher Wright, Joshua Fisher and Samantha Fisher; great grandchildren Lillian and Joshua; brothers Felix Gimenez, Fernando Gimenez, and Jose Maria Gimenez; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son Johnny Fernando, and her parents Felix Gimenez Sanz and Maria Ester Amatria Ruiz.

A visitation will be held for Esther at 10:30 a.m. with a mass following at 11:00 on Wednesday, June 12th, 2013; please refrain from wearing fragrances. We will be at the Pavilion on the grounds of Cordi-Marion Congregation Resurrection Cemetery, 11624 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas 78253. It is on the left immediately past Taft High School.
