

Maria Elena Flores, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 surrounded by her family. She was a devoted and beloved wife, a loving and generous mother who gave of herself unconditionally and according to her three grandchildren was very nice and sweet. Born in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico on July 12, 1942, she moved to San Antonio in 1963 and soon after met and married the love of her life Rogelio S. Flores. She was happiest when she was with family, traveling across the United States and Mexico, and more recently enjoyed the company of her rambunctious grandchildren and loved doting them with gifts. Her granddaughter Lilliana said this, "The best thing I liked about Ma is that she always had a smile on her face no matter what was going on and I always liked her cakes and cookies that she made for us at Christmas." Diego loved that, "she always brought us stuffed animals and donuts and always let us play on her wheelchair." She was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Felipa Aranda; brothers, Jess, Ramiro, and Leopoldo Aranda and sister, Maria del Carmen Troncoso. Maria Elena is survived by her husband, Rogelio Flores, daughter Theresa Anna Flores; son, Albert Arrellano Flores; grandchildren, Lilliana Theresa Flores, Diego Alberto Flores, and Sofia Mariela Flores; sister, Eustolia Zapata; and brothers Jose and Reynaldo Aranda.
