

Maria Teresa Viramontes Garza, daughter of Roberto E. Viramontes and Dolores Lopez Viramontes was born in San Luis Potosi, SLP, Mexico on April 25, 1928. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake High School and attended Our Lady of the Lake College.
During her lifetime she held several positions, including working for USAA in the 1950's. She devoted a great deal of her life to caring for her family and was a devout member of St. Luke Catholic Church. She tutored at St. Martin's Hall, teaching English as a second language.
Maria Teresa's faith and strength helped her overcome cancer and she was blessed to be a 45+ year cancer survivor. Her many interests included gardening, cooking, photography and mostly, being a grandmother. She contributed to and was passionate about Maryknoll Missionaries. She formed long-lasting relationships with all who knew her.
On behalf of Maria Teresa, the family would like to thank all of the caregivers who were so generous in their care through the years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, L. Salvador Garza. Survivors; sons, Salvador J. Garza and Palmira Arellano Garza, Robert M. Garza and Laurie D. Garza; grandsons, Ryan and Ethan Garza; brothers, Robert I. Viramontes and Louis Viramontes; sister-in-law, Carmen C. Viramontes; nephew, Louis C. Viramontes and her cousins, nephews and nieces in Mexico.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21st beginning at 5:30 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough.
