Mrs. Maria Luisa Martinez passed away at the age of 92 on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at St. Francis Nursing Home in San Antonio, Texas. Maria was born August 14, 1920 in Corozal, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of Faustino Vazquez and Juana Diaz. On December 14, 1946 she married Hector Luis Martinez in New York and had a daughter.
Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years. She is survived by her one daughter, Prof. Zaida L. Martinez of San Antonio; son-in-law, Prof. Brian Toyne of San Antonio; one brother, Angel Luis Vazquez; four sisters, Georgina Rodriguez, Virgen Vazquez, Isabel Martinez and Aurea Ester Vega.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough Ave; San Antonio, Texas.
