

Our beloved mother, Maria Luisa Morado, passed peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 24, 2022. Born to Margarita Martinez Molina Robles and Estanislado Molina, she lived to the beautiful age of 92. Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Jose Flores Morado, having lost him during the Vietnam Conflict. As a single mother, Maria was able to complete her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University and was employed as a bilingual educator and primary school teacher for Edgewood I.S.D. She was also an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed many years singing unto our Lord with the Spanish Choir. As a proud resident of San Antonio, Maria was an early and active member of Communities Organized for Public Service (COPS) and advocated for better roads and drainage for the west side in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Our beloved mother is also preceded in death by her daughters, Maria Theresa Morado and Katherine Silva. Maria is survived by daughters, Lydia Ann Morado, Joan Louise Rodriguez, Olga Carol Gomez (David), and Margaret Rose Blackmon; grandchildren, Leticia, Gregory, Jose, Daniel, Samuel, Andrew, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Vanessa, David, Valerie, Idris, Aziza, Elijah, and Ayla.
