Maria de Jesus Morales

Susie was a passionate mother, wife, and homemaker. She dedicated several years of her life serving as a health unit coordinator. She enjoyed reading novels, watching western tv shows and movies, solving crossword puzzles, and praying the Rosary. She loved traveling with her husband. She adopted many stray dogs over the years who followed her around the house like little shadows. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with old friends and adored her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus M. Uriegas and Elisa Reyes Uriegas, and brothers, Jose, Modesto, and Ruben Uriegas. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bernabe E. Morales Jr, her children, Bernabe E. Morales III, Jesus G. Morales and Esmeralda Morales Weston; sister Juanita Uriegas Moreno; brother Jesus Uriegas; and grandchildren Lorenzo, Elisa, and Alejandro as well as numerous relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, Dec 20, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuaries & Cremation Services, 2102 N Loop 1604E San Antonio, TX starting 6:00 PM for visitation followed by the Rosary at 7:00 PM. A family time is set for 5:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday Dec 21, 2023, at St Helena Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1130 AM.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Bernabe E. Morales III, Ray Sanchez. Gabriel Lugo, Jesse Lugo, Jacinto Davila, John Sosa.

The family extends a most heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Homero Rodriguez, Dr. Jose Santos, Dr. Monica Gutierrez, Dra Marianela Ramirez, and the many medical personnel who cared for Susie.
