Maria W. Orta, 69, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in San Antonio. Born in Norfolk, VA on June 16, 1947 to Glenn and Virginia Whedbee, she was a true Southern belle. She was a woman of faith, and lived her faith daily. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Resbon Whedbee. Survivors include her husband, Simon B. Orta, 2 daughters, Angelica Haymore and husband John, and Christina Comly and husband Shane; a son, Simon David Orta; 4 grandchildren, Roman and Titus Haymore, and Caleb and Dylan Comly; and 2 nieces, Tanya Landrum and Danielle Whedbee.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 21, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
