Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She touched many lives in her 76 years, not only in South Texas, but also in Alabama, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
Marie had a strong work ethic and at one point in her life she was employed at the historic "Evening Star" newspaper in Washington, D.C. as a bookkeeper. She was a "working mom" long before it was considered fashionable to be one. With a sweet smile on her face and an endless supply of energy she was a dynamo and a tiny giant of a woman packed into a 5 foot - 105 pound frame.
Marie always lived by her creed, "You are as young as you feel!" and was taken in her sleep to be with Jesus.
She is survived by her sister, Emma Gonzalez; her brother, Manuel Gonzalez and his wife Elva; her two sons, Frederick T. Hyman III and wife Jane L., and Gary Lee Hyman and loving grandchildren, Tryce Joseph and Lynna Marie Hyman.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
