Marina C. Portales

Marina C. Portales entered eternal rest on June 25, 2023 at the age of 86. A native of San Antonio, Texas, she was born to Santos and Maria L. Cerda on June 18, 1937. Marina is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Regino G. Portales, Sister Santa Cerda, and grandson Jaime Miguel Portales. She is survived by her children: Virginia Lujano, Jose Manuel Portales (Linda), Veronica Cantu (Lonnie), Patricia Portales Pena (Joe Albert); grandchildren: Miranda Lujano, Jose Antonio Portales, Julian Portales, Monique Portales, Sebastian Pena, and Diego Pena; several great-grandchildren, and sister Guadalupe Ledesma. Prior to marrying, Marina trained and served as a nurse’s aide. She later worked over 20 years at Northside Independent School District cafeterias. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and woodcrafts.

The family will receive guests at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 6, 2023 with a procession departing at 8:00 a.m. to celebrate an 8:30 a.m. mass at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery
