

The family moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1935 and then to San Antonio, Texas in 1943. Bunty graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, and attended the University of Texas where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. She also attended Trinity University. In 1948, she married Jack Merrill Palmer, a graduate of West Point.
After his service in the Air Force, they moved to San Antonio where she remained the rest of her life. Bunty was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church and St. David's in San Antonio. She was an active member of the Daughters of the King, the Cursillo movement and as a lay leader. For many years she was an active member of a prayer group where she had many close friends. She was an accomplished needle pointer and enjoyed quilting as well as genealogy.
Bunty was beloved for her generous nature and kindness to anyone she met. In the last 10 years of her life, she had Alzheimer's and of those years, the last 8 years she lived at Eden Hill Communities in New Braunfels where she received tender and loving care from all of the caregivers for which the family is deeply grateful.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother, Kenneth Ladd Browne III as well her nephew, Kenneth Ladd Browne IV.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Merrill Palmer; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Joe Maverick of Wimberley; sister-in-law, Thelmarie Browne; many nieces, nephews and many friends.
