

Marjorie K. Stanfield, age 72, died Sunday, November 3, 2002. She was born in Eagle Pass, Tx, December 25, 1929, to John King and Clara C. Etter King. She graduated from Eagle Pass High School in 1947. In November of 1948 she married James Stanfield and together they built a strong life and loving family. After retiring from a career that took them to France, England, and all over the United States, they settled in San Antonio, Texas in 1968 where Marjorie became active in church, school and community organizations. She loved her gardens and plants. She enjoyed keeping in touch with the military families she and her husband met throughout the years and she worked for a short time as a substitute teacher, but her main focus was always on her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to her children. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasures. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John King, Jr.;and her infant daughter, Ivy Lynn Stanfield. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James K. Stanfield; her daughter, Janette Walker and husband, Andy of San Antonio, Tx; her daughter, Kraleen Smith and husband, Tolby of Rowlette, Tx; her son, Michael Stanfield and wife, Diana of Austin, Tx; seven grandchildren: Michelle Luna, Jamie Luna, Rebecca Walker, Matthew Stanfield, Kevin Smith, Benjamin Stanfield, and Mary Stanfield; one great-grandchild, Pierce Vasquez; her sister, Mary Callahan of Mitchell, IN; her brother, David King and wife Vonnie of California; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving relatives and friends. The family wishes to express appreciation for the care extended by Vista Care Hospice.
