Mark John Anderson, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 63. He was born on November 19, 1960, in Manistee, Michigan, to proud parents Major Carl John “Coach” and Sharon Anderson.
Mark's life was marked by kindness, a cold beer, and a fierce love for his family, Michigan Wolverines, and Green Bay Packers. After graduating from Wheaton High School, Mark attended Central Michigan University. Settling in San Antonio, Mark made a profound impact on all who knew him. He was known for his heart of gold, compassion, loyalty, humor, quick wit, extensive sports knowledge, stubbornness, and selflessness. The joy of his life, other than Michigan football, was his daughter Ashley and his grandchildren, Caroline and Conor. Pop Mark rarely missed a game, performance or opportunity to spend time together. Mark's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Mark is survived by his daughter Ashley Grace (Jeremy) White, grandchildren Caroline and Conor Johnson and Mara and Emory White, brother Michael (Sally) Anderson, nephew Cameron Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents Major Carl John and Sharon Anderson, Aunt Carol Droit, and Aunt Ida Thayer.
Mark will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and cherished by so many.
