Mark was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Jack Palmer Donahue and Mildred Alexander Donahue on March 31, 1950. He went to school at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio. He then graduated from ITT Technical Institute. He worked as a keyboard player for the San Antonio based bands the Union Jacks and Phase IV during the 1960s and 1970s. He also worked as a pressman for the San Antonio Light and for the Donahue family business, American Mobile Home Company.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mildred Donahue.
Mark is survived by his ex-wife Frances Dee Donahue, and their son James Raymond Donahue.
