

Mark Scriver, a native San Antonian, entered into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on September 24, 2021, at the age of 50. He is now beginning eternal life with Jesus Christ. He was born on August 20, 1971, to Rosemary Hernandez and Bill Scriver.
Mark graduated from Edgewood High School in 1989. Shortly after, Mark joined the United States Army. In 1990 he fought as a Tanker in the Gulf War. Upon returning from the Gulf War in 1991 he met Ramona Zepeda while visiting Peter Piper Pizza. They both fell in love with each other and later got married on July 10, 1992. Together they raised their three beautiful and amazing children, Samantha, Jaclyn, and Maxx Logan. Mark and Ramona loved each other very much, they were inseparable, always had fun and enjoyed each others company. They loved spending quality time with their children, family gatherings, gardening, working on home projects together, watching movies, relaxing together, vacationing, and taking road trips to casinos. Mark and Ramona always put God first in their family life. They appreciated and never took for granted their time spent together. They were each others Greatest Love and were Best Friends. Mark and Ramona Scriver were so blessed and happily married for 29 memorable years.
In 1995 he started work as a delivery driver at Pillbox Pharmacy. He was eager and motivated to learn about pharmacy. He began reading educational pharmaceutical books and given the opportunity to have hands on training. In 1996 he became a Certified Pharmacy Technician. He continued working with them after the change to Champs Pharmacy. Mark later became a Certified Compounded Sterile Technician and the Pharmacy Manager. He worked for the company for 25 years. Mark was a very hard worker, always making sure to give his best. He always went above and beyond and exceeded clients and customers expectations. He was well respected and loved by customers, clients, and employees. He always expressed and showed appreciation, gratitude, and loyalty to the owners of Champs Pharmacy, Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez.
After September 11th 2001, he was activated to White Sands, New Mexico, where he served for a year. In 2003 he was called and proudly fought with the 217th Transportation Company (HET), on the War against terrorism in Operation Iraqi Freedom. With Gods grace, Sgt. Mark Scriver safely returned home in 2004 where he continued to serve in the United States Army Reserves. He retired as a Staff Sergeant on November 30th, 2016 after serving in the United States Army for 23 years.
Mark had several skills ranging from woodworking, tile work, painting, and home improvement projects. His other interests include fitness and weightlifting, to his love for Star Trek, Star Wars, watching Marvel movies, reading comics, and drawing. Mark always put God and faith first and instilled that in his family. He was always on the move, making sure everything was great with work, our home, and that his family was loved and taken care of. He was funny, witty, constantly shared jokes and humorous stories. Mark had a zest for life, a high energy level, and a positive personality that drew and attracted so many people to him. He was just so much fun to be around! Mark was always willing to go out of his way to help anyone in need and those who were less fortunate. He was a Man of integrity and always had compassion for people. He was loved, well respected, and admired by his Wife, Children, Son-in-laws, Family, friends, colleagues, brother-in-arms, and community. Not a day will pass, without missing him greatly. We will continue to love, honor and remember Mark every day, with our precious, loving memories.
Mark will be reunited in heaven with his Stepfather, Valdemar Guzman; Grandparents, Lucas and Jesusa Hernandez, and Vivian Scriver. He will also be reunited with his feisty, loyal companion Shelly.
Mark will always be loved and remembered by his loving wife, Ramona Zepeda Scriver; His Children, Samantha Scriver (Francisco Cerda), Jaclyn Scriver (Mario Camarillo), and Maxx Logan Scriver. Grandchild, Jaxx Scriver; Mother, Rosemary Guzman; Father, Bill Scriver (Rayette); Sisters, Twin sister, Michelle Scriver Fuentes (Alberto), Ann Marie Guzman, Paula Lara (Joseph), and Rosemary Avila (Juan); Brothers, Joseph Molina (Sandra), and Valdemar Guzman Jr; God Parents, Felipe and Hortencia Lopez; Sister-In-Law, Felipa Lira (Michael); Brother-In-Laws, Demetrio Zepeda Jr. (Marisol), Lucas Zepeda (Vivian); Dear friends and mentors Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez; His loyal companions Rusty and Lady, numerous nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
