

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, J. Lawson Felder, V and brother, Charles "Sonny" Tompkins.
Known lovingly as "Bebe" she was the daughter of Charles H. Tompkins and Hazel Scott Tompkins. Born and raised in Prescott, Arkansas, Bebe was an intelligent, gentle and loving woman whose love of family was always first and foremost in her life.
She graduated from Stephens College, received her B.A. from the University of Arkansas and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
She married J. Lawson Felder in 1940, resided in San Antonio, Texas and raised their sons, John and Charles. Bebe was a long time member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, Junior League and docent at the Witte Museum. She was also an avid genealogist and bible historian. When asked how she would like to be remembered, she said simply her tombstone should read "SHE MEANT WELL."
Bebe is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John L. Felder, VI and wife Beth, Charles Felder and wife Debra; four grandchildren, Melanie Felder Palma, Courtney Felder Claunch and husband Todd, John Felder, VII and wife MacKinzie, and Ryan Felder.
She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Andrew Claunch, Christopher and Jacqueline Palma and John Felder, VIII. Other survivors include niece, Martha Tompkins Barrett and nephew, Thomas Tompkins. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19th from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
