She was born to Martha and John Blankinship in Henryetta, Oklahoma on December 3, 1908. Ara was a member of West Main Baptist Church in Alice, TX.
She was also a past president and member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional teachers society. She worked for 27 years as a school teacher in Alice, Benavides and Robstown.
Her husband, Walter T. Morris; daughter, Ara Marie Morris; and daughter-in-law, Gayle Morris preceded her in death.
She is survived by one sister, Margaret Harrell of Shawnee, OK an done sister-in-law, Kathryn Blankinship of Alice, TX; her daughters, Virginia Wilson of Poth, TX, Sue Dodd and husband Richard of Pomona, CA, Wanda Kline and husband Donald of San Antonio, and Kathryn Elaine Patterson and husband John of Premont, TX; and son, John W. Morris of Ovilla, TX; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
