

Martha “Sissy” Hain Park passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Sissy was born on May 17, 1935 to Bernice Adams Hain and Joseph H. Hain in Hull Daisetta, Texas. When she was seven her family moved to Beaumont. She attended Catholic schools, transferring to Beaumont High School in her freshman year. There, she made a circle of friends who all remained close throughout the rest of their lives. A thoughtful and devoted friend, Sissy was instrumental in keeping their “CLUB” together, through regular visits, luncheons and phone calls. She was a loyal and loving friend to all those lucky enough to know her. Sissy lived a full and productive life sustained by her Catholic faith. Her sunny personality and her gentle sense of humor made every gathering fun.
Sissy attended the University of Texas where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. After returning to Beaumont, she married her beloved Jim. Their love affair lasted nearly 70 years. He was her devoted friend and companion throughout their marriage. Sissy loved spending time with Jim and her family. She also cherished the happy times and countless memories spent at their lovely beach home on the Bolivar Peninsula.
Sissy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Jim” Kyle Park, her parents, Bernice and Joseph Hain, and her sister, Mary Jo “Dallas” Hill.
Sissy is survived by her sons, James Kyle Park, Jr. and his wife, Melissa; Joseph H. Park and his wife, Kristin; John C. Park, Sr. and his wife, Kate; grandchildren Jennifer Park; Joshua Park and his wife, Erika; Laurel Park; John C. Park, Jr.; Nix Park; great-grandsons Kyle Bradshaw; Knox Bradshaw. Additionally, Sissy is survived by her niece Anne Marshall and her husband, Larry; nephew Jim Park and his wife, Chris; nephew Marc Hill and his wife, Jeffrey; niece Filamena Martin and her husband, Lee; nephews Gifford Hill and Thad Hill.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the very special caregivers and medical professionals who did so much for Sissy in recent years: Dr. Chris Kopecky, Karel H. Hoffman, Stella Elizondo, Claire Martindale, and Evangeline Shah. We appreciate their thoughtful care for Sissy and will be forever grateful.
In lieu of flowers, Sissy requested donations to St. Ann’s Church - Beaumont, St. Pius Church - Beaumont or Saint Anthony de Padua Catholic Church - San Antonio. Services will be private per Sissy’s wishes.
