Mary Gaye Adams

November 10, 1935 - February 9, 2022

Mary Gaye Buttles Adams, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on November 10, 1935 in Pearsall, Texas to her parents, Campbell and Mary Smith Buttles. She graduated from Pearsall High School, where she was the Drum Major for the Marching Band. Mary Gaye enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and much of that time included her love of the Spurs, dancing, hunting, bowling, golf, music, trips to Las Vegas, and watching and listening to the birds around her home. In her professional life she was responsible for the operational success of the Law Office of Royal D. Adams and Southern Gulf Petroleum Company, and held a Real Estate Brokers License.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, David D. Towler, Jr.; her second husband, Royal D. Adams; her daughter, Susan E. Stacy; and her brother, Charles Bruce "Bud" Buttles. Mary Gaye is survived by her children: David D. Towler, III (Seana), Bruce E. Towler (Chrisi), Royal Dean Adams, Royallee M. Allen (Robert), Randall A. Adams (Terri), and Dennis G. Adams, by her nieces Palma Buttles-Valdez (Fred) and Elnora Buttles Balester (Marc), and by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
