

Mary Paige also known as Mishaya Paige, 62, passed peacefully surrounded by family on 11 September from a long line of illnesses and Lupus. She was born to Sarah Colleen O'toole and Albert Bernard Ficca in San Antonio, Texas. She was raised by her stepfather Charles Ellis Leader with her mother Sarah. Charles was her "father". After graduating from Highlands High in 1971, she eventually worked for FedEx as a Corporate Recruitment Specialist retiring in 2004 from there. The job was her passion and loved the traveling. After retirement she went to real estate school and became a realtor for Prudential Classic Realty. Overall, she loved talking to people and was a very caring person.
In the past, Mary Paige wrote for The Edge Metal Magazine where she had her column Cactus Corner writing about regional bands promoting their music. She was a co-worker of Alamo's All That Jam affording bands to practice and record. She was also the founder of Cactus Star Entertainment. Mary Paige hosted and promoted several benefits for children in need of miscellaneous transplants and worked closely with Transplants for Children. She performed and assisted with benefits for the Heidi Search Center in San Antonio too.
Surviving members include son Timothy Ray and wife Joy Ann Davila Leader; her estranged husband Steven Anderson and two step-children, Christopher and Kelly Anderson; grandchildren Elizabeth Nason-Leader, Kirby Michael Painter-Leader, Ethan Bailey Cordero-Leader and Austin Ray Leader. Siblings include sister Sylvia Ficca Willis; brothers, Charles David Leader and wife Dolores, Richard Enloe Leader, Claude Lee Leader and wife Denise, Theodore Clyde Leader, Bernie Ficca Waldron and wife Lucille, and Greg Ficca Waldron and wife Lisa and many nieces and nephews. Mary Paige asked that her other sisters (close friends) be acknowledged and let them know how much she cared about them; Trish Davis, Kathy Harrington, Carolyn Baggett, and Lizzy Reina. Alan Fullard from Birmingham England was the greatest giving the love and support through her illness.
Mary Paige is preceded by her father; mother; stepfather; sister, Sybil Ficca and brother, Otis Austin Lucas.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
The family will hold a private graveside service.
