Mary Anne Sullivan

Mary Anne Sullivan, age 87, went home to our Heavenly Father on June 3, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George F. Sullivan, her son George W. Sullivan, her parents, her in-laws, and her brother Gilbert Ramirez & his wife, Mary. Mary Anne is survived by her children, Jeanette S. Sullivan, Julia A. Glenewinkel (Ronnie), Mary A. Jones (Mike), Michael A. Sullivan, Kathleen F. Mitchell (Adam), Robert J. Ramirez (Vanessa), and her fur baby, Phinneaus; grandchildren, Jason Waclawczyk (Crystal), Kathryn Davis (Rick), Chase Jones (Leandra), Carson Jones (Ashley), Ben Jones, Jennifer Sullivan, Hayden Mitchell, Ethan Mitchell, Emma Mitchell, Jonathon Hernandez, Raquel Ramirez, and Raphael Herrera; great grandchildren, Carter Davis, Lane Davis, EllaClaire Waclawczyk, Jolene Kirk, and Cedric Jones; brother, Paul Ramirez, sister-in-law Carmen, and their three daughters Shirley, Roxane, Michelle and their families.

Mary Anne was born on December 28, 1935, in Cotulla, Texas to Willie and Juanita Ramirez. The family moved to San Antonio in 1941 where Mary Anne attended Catholic schools from Elementary through High School. She was a 1955 graduate of Providence High School where she was involved in Future Homemakers of America, Paletteers, Marian Choristers, Press Club and was the FHA Miss Providence 1954. After High School she attended Our Lady of The Lake University. Mary Anne met her husband George through friends while he was in basic training at Lackland Air Force. They settled in San Antonio where they raised their family. While raising her family she always found time to volunteer at school functions, church functions and any other activities her children were involved in. Mary Anne worked in an office environment for many years but eventually moved on to own and operate an Ice Cream shop named Anne’s. When she wasn’t working you could find her reading, enjoying her plants & flowers in her yard, spending time with her family and traveling. Mary Anne was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church for 46 years.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, June 12, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary West.

Father Joe will officiate. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with Reception to follow at Porter Loring West. Pallbearers will be Robert Ramirez, Michael Sullivan, Jason Waclawzyk, Chase Jones, Carson Jones, Hayden Mitchell, Ben Jones, and Ethan Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Ramirez, Ronnie Glenewinkel, Mike Jones, Adam Mitchell, and Rashid Assad.
