

Mary Frances Colunga, from Christine, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2016. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, all of whom had been touched by Mary in some way during her memorable life. Along with her work at USAA and Precious Minds New Connections, she will be most remembered for her many roles at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church including her direction of the After-School Care Program, where the students adored her and learned from her. She truly touched so many lives.
Outside of the church, she loved her family and friends more than anything in the world. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Enemencio Colunga and her parents Rita and Doroteo Pacheco, Jr. She had two boys, Jacob and Isaac, both of whom she taught respect and compassion, the importance of family, and everything in between. They will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Merrilee and Gia, and her loving Grandchildren, Maria, Lily, & Andrew, three sisters Cecelia Aguilar and husband Mike of San Antonio, Angie Zamarripa of Pleasanton, Gregoria Casanova and husband Ernest of Jourdanton and four brothers Jim Pacheco and wife Mage of Big Spring, Don Pacheco and wife Nancy of Abilene, Juan Pacheco of San Antonio and Eusebio Pacheco and wife Estella of San Antonio and countless extended family and friends who will never forget her.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11,2017 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, 111 Barilla with Deacon Richard DeHoyes officiating. Funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Re. Jason Martini celebrant. Interment will follow to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
