Dr. Mary (Stinnett) Donato Currie, MD, 76, of Blanco, Texas died June 21, 2024, in San Antonio. Mary was born December 10, 1947, in Fort Baker, California and was the daughter of Edward Leo Stinnett and Guadalupe Mary Lopez. Mary was a respected anesthesiologist who graduated from the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio in 1974. She spent much of her practice at Nix Health in San Antonio, retiring in 1997.
Mary was united in marriage to John Garner Currie on July 30, 1990, making their home in Blanco, Texas. John and Mary enjoyed traveling and diving in exotic locations. Mary was well known for her marine photography. Her photos have been featured in collections of NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuaries. Mary was an avid reader, naturalist and enjoyed her garden and Jack Russell terriers: Hondo, Jasper, Patches, and Peaches.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Guadie. She is survived by her husband, John; her half-brother Richard Gonzalez; her step-son John Quin Currie Beckelheimer (Teresa); her step-daughter Candace Allegra Currie (John Lambert); and two grandchildren John Garner Lambert and Channing Currie Lambert.
