

Mary Louise Davila, 77, of San Antonio, passed away on February 3rd, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas.
Mary Louise was born in Toledo, Ohio to Sebastian C. Garcia and Paula O. Garcia on July 27th, 1946. She went to school at Brackenridge High School. She married Richard Peña Davila “Güero Polkas” on April 10th, 1965 in Seguin, Texas. She graduated from San Antonio College with a Paralegal Associate’s Degree. She worked as a Paralegal for AT&T for 20 years. She was involved in the Mexican-American Business and Professional Women’s Organization and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Mary Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian C. Garcia, Paula O. Garcia, her sister Mary Helen Medina, and her son Jose Luis Davila I.
Mary Louise is survived by her husband, Richard Peña Davila “Güero Polkas”, her children & their spouses, Mary Louise Brock & Karl Brock, Richard Davila & Tere Davila, Michael Davila & Brenda Davila, and Robert Davila Sr. Her sisters & their spouses: Anita Alfaro & Albert Alfaro, and Rosa Garcia. Her Grandchildren: Zachary Brock, Madison Brock, Kennedy Brock, Brittney Davila, Breanna Herd & Harley Herd, Sebastian Davila, Amelia Davila, Gabriella & Isabella Davila, Alex Davila, Tyler Davila, Reyna Davila, Robert Davila Jr., Jayden Davila, Isabella Davila, Arianna Davila, Madeline Davila, and Jose Davila II. Her Great-Grandchildren: Hudson Herd & Hayes Herd, Azriel Davila, and Amelia Davila’s soon-to-be newborn son.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rosary to follow from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A public visitation will occur on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, followed by Mass from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A committal service will occur that same day from 2:00 PM to 2:20 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
The family of Mary Louise Davila wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her Primary Care Physician, Dr. Francisco Barrera, the nurses and physicians at University Hospital, employees of Heart To Heart Hospice, her best friend since elementary school, Rosie Rodriguez, and St. Matthew Catholic Church.
