Mary Ellen Fogarty

Mary Ellen “Dolly” Fogarty passed away on January 29, 2023. She was born in San Antonio on October 4, 1924, to Margaret Ealy Fogarty and William P. Fogarty and was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Peggy Voith; and brother, Pat Fogarty. Dolly is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Dolly was one of the first parishioners at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a proud member of the Alter Society and Eucharistic Minister team. She loved her church community and found comfort in her deep faith and daily prayer practice.

Dolly enjoyed a long career at the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission and retired to help care for her mother for many years.

Dolly was our Angel on earth. She has lived a life of commitment to her Holy Father and her entire family; and we are comforted to know that she is now, for all eternity, seated at the right hand of the Father.

A special thank you to the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Leticia Sandoval, and Ben and Bianca Bodea and their care team for providing such loving care for Dolly.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 600 Oblate Dr, San Antonio, 78216. Rosary service will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial funeral mass at 10:30 am.
