Mary Louise Dempsey Haecker passed into the next life on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 in New Orleans, LA. She was eighty-seven years old and a native of San Antonio, Texas. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 39 years, Edward John Haecker, and by her siblings, Bess Frances Felder, Thomas Dempsey, John Dempsey and Hazel Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Haecker Ryan; her son-in-law, John Henry Ryan; and her beloved grandchildren Sophia Marie Ryan, Alixe Haywood Ryan, and Edward John "Teddy" Ryan, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was born on October 25, 1921, to Rebecca Lydia and Thomas Francis Dempsey. She was active for many decades at her San Antonio parish, St. Paul's Catholic Church, particularly through the Widowed Support Group. While her family was her principal focus, she also worked as a substitute teacher at St. Paul's Elementary School and as an office manager of a medical practice in San Antonio.
