I thought about Mary these last couple of weeks while I was attending several United Women in Faith events. She would have enjoyed the adventure to Assembly in Florida and being my running buddy. I miss her and her mischevous smile.

I was thinking about you this week Mary, and how much I miss our quiet humourous talks. Will think about you every pumpkin patch. Miss you dear friend.

I miss you everyday. It has been a very long year since I have seen you but it also feels like yesterday. I love you Mom!

I only met Mary one time.  I heard many stories about her from my late husband James Christian Harriss.  He always had kind words about Robin and Becky.

Mary was so loving and kind.  We had missed her after she moved to San Antonio and always looked forward to the times when she came back to help at the pumpkin patch or attend a UMW circle meeting.  She loved feeding the animals which were on the other side of the fence when she was at the pumpkin patch.  I was blessed to have a short conversation with her the morning of her surgery.  As always she was thinking of others and told me she had been praying for me while I was in the hospital a few weeks before.  She will be missed by all who knew her but we know she is out of pain and in a glorious place.  Love you Mary.


Mary Harriss had a Big Heart and a Loving Soul

I knew Mary from BUMC and enjoyed the summer VBS events together, her there with her grandkids,  me there with my boys. Over the years watching them grow and learn about God in such a loving environment.
She enjoyed volunteering at the food pantry, another activity we both enjoyed at BUMC, several times a month.
We shared many years of Bunco fun, 12 of us Ladies enjoying food and Laughter as a group at each others houses, a different house each month

After she moved to SA, she sometimes needed a place to stay while back visiting here in Buda and she knew my door was always open to her.  When I was in SA sometimes we would go out to eat, go shopping or go see the sites together as a group or just relax in her apartment. She liked to bake muffins for us all to enjoy.
Seasons change and her little Christmas tree became a Valentines day tree, so while there I helped her organize her Beanie Babies in their container and then put the Valentines Day ones under the tree. She wanted to change it out later for the different calendar events/holidays  over the year. We then enjoyed some dinner and watched TV till we fell asleep in our chairs. Thank you for the many years of fond memories.

She was Loved by So Many and will be missed by us All.

Mary was one of the kindest, charitable, loving persons I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Enjoyed playing games with her and our family, watching her TV shows, and taking her for lunch every Saturday.  She was a treasured blessing in my life and I will miss her. 

mary was a wonderful friend & she &I  loved playing cards together w/my grand daughter  and always had a lot of laughter..I am sure  she can see my grand daughter (Chastity) in heaven and give her a laugh  Chastity loved Mary and loved to laugh as Mary always kept you laughing...she will be missed to all that knew mary here on earth...

Mary was a loving, giving friend who lived her faith every day.     While she leaves many of us to morn her passing, Heaven is having a joyful reunion and a beautiful homecoming!!    We will all definitely miss her but Heaven is much richer for her presence.  

I really don't have any words to write. I know a sparkle has gone from life and I hope and pray it was a Tinkerbell kind of light. I do believe. 

Dance through the stars Mary and keep shining! Praying comfort over your family and loved ones. 

Mary was a very kind, generous, and thoughtful person. She was always giving us presents and sending us cards. She was fun to be around - making us laugh and putting a smile on our face.  We will miss Mary, but take comfort in knowing she is in Heaven and is completely healed!  

Mary was a devoted member of United Methodist Women and served as President of our local unit in Buda Texas before returning to San Antonio.   She loved buying small toys for the "Fish Pond" at our annual fund raising Christmas Bazaar and volunteering every year in the pumpkin patch. These  events funded food for needy families, services for survivors of domestic violence, programs for women with incarcerated family members, health insurance for widows and their children in Rwanda, and so much more. She had a passionate heart for missions and lived out her faith, hope, and love in action.  She was ready and willing to GO,  to DO, and to ASK for resources that would help improve the lives of her neighbors  both near, and around the world. She was courageous and found humor in everyday things. 
She was someone you could count on and know she would always have your back.
I will miss you so very much Mary. Fly high dear friend.


Mary was a lovely, unique lady. She was generous and always brought a gift for everyone at family gatherings. She was always positive and upbeat and independent in spite of declining health. She was always sharing a humorous or current event story.  She genuinely cared about others and visited our mom on many occasions. It was a privilege to know and love this wonderful, dear friend who was also family. We will greatly miss her, but we know Heaven is rejoicing!

My mom,  Mary Harriss, was the smartest person I know. She was an avid trivia buff and would give everyone a run for their money when playing any game, but especially trivia. She was also very generous and insisted on giving presents to everyone, no matter the occasion. Because of her generosity, she was an extremely thrifty shopper and taught me the value of the clearance section. :-)  She loved animals and had a progression of beloved pets throughout her lifetime. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved each of them with all of her heart. My mom made everyone laugh and feel at ease. She had a powerful faith and would always remind me to trust in God. She will be missed so much, but she is now with Granny, Grandpa, John and Bubba. And they are all smiling down on us.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucy Glasgow; her husband, James Harriss; and her brothers, George and John Glasgow. She is survived by her children, Robin White (Tim Roberts) and Rebecca Carrasco (Antonio Carrasco); her grandchildren, Madison, Rielly and Briana White, Meredith and Antonio III Carrasco and McKenna Roberts; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
