She is preceded in death by her husband, Santiago, and eldest son, Jimmy. She is survived by her children Gloria (San Antonio), Diane (Austin), David (Perth, Australia) and Mark (Phoenix).
Mary was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who also had a deep and abiding faith in God the Father.
She had a larger-than-life personality who lived and loved fully and deeply. Anyone who knew her knows she could command a room with her presence and lively stories. Mary was renown in Texas as the owner of Opa’s Antiques, which she opened based on interests developed between her and Santiago while living abroad and traveling globally throughout the US, Africa, Australia, and Europe.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 5-7 PM at Porter Loring, 1101 McCullough Avenue. Rosary is at 7 PM.
Mass will be held Tuesday, November 29, 11:30 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 700 Dewhurst.
Interment follows at 1:00 PM in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd.
