It is hard to believe that it has been a year since Bootsie passed. The fond memories are many...her kindness, her wonderful Italian cream cakes, her thoughtfulness. 
May the Perpetual Light continue to shine on her soul. 

The first three children of Charles Daniel and Mary Genevieve Langan Corrigan were Danny (Charles Daniel, Jr.-9-29-1934 to 12-18,2016), Patsy (Patricia Jean-3-21-1936 to 7-17-2014), and Mary Ann ("Bootsie"-9-13-1937to 2-25-2020).  Three children in 3 years,all born in San Antonio. Their's was a special bond."Bootsie" received her nickname (according to her  beloved husband Ronald T. Lamb) from her mother after either:  a comic strip character in "Boots and her Buddies", or a child of her mother's friend, named "Boots"--how it eventually evolved to "Bootsie" from just "Boots", remains uncertain, but she was initially called "Boots".  She graduated from St. Ann's grade school and Providence H.S..  After high school, she worked at Kelly AFB and lived in San Antonio with her maternal grandmother, Genevieve (Gene) O'Meara Langan Harper at 331 Beal St.  Our grandmother was in poor health, and needed someone to live with her and be there especially at night.  While working by day at Kelly, Bootsie was nominated by her workplace of "Special Weapons" to be "Miss Kelly AFB".  She was always very pretty, but,  more importantly, was a wonderful, kind and loving person to everyone.  Our grandmother Gene died in her sleep in my bed on 7-10-1957 at our parents home at that time of 1206 W. Russell Pl. in San Antonio while Bootsie, Joyce and I(Brian) were on a vacation in California with our great-uncle Louie New (the brother of our paternal grandmother Alda New Corrigan).  We didn't learn of Gene's death till we were returning home and stopped in El Paso at the O'Meara homestead.  We were all upset, but Bootsie took it especially hard.  We returned home and Bootsie continued working at Kelly till she met the love of her life, Ronald T. Lamb.  They were married 9-12-1959, in St Paul's  Cath. Ch. by Fr. A.A. Leopold. Her sister Patsy was matron of honor and Ralph Stone was best man.  Ron said on the day she died she was an angel. Now she belongs as our angel to the ages. Brian C.    

Bootsie will always be a part of my memories of coming to San Antonio.  We would visit a couple of times per year from whatever part of the country we were living in.  My sister Terrie and I would spend the night with Rhonda and Patti and have so much fun while our parents went out.  One time I stepped in a red ant hill and had stings all over my body.  Bootsie treated me with calamine lotion and set me up on the couch with a bowl of ice cream and I watched the Brady Bunch and the Partridge Family for the first time.  Whenever I see re-runs of those shows I always think of Bootsie with a smile.  She was a wonderful person and will be missed. Bootsie and I have been close friends since we were in 2nd grade and I will miss her so much.  She was the first person I would call when I got to San Antonio and she was always ready to meet for lunch, shopping or getting together.  Ronny, Bootsie,  Eddy and I always had so much fun together and we have so many good memories from all our years of friendship. My trips to SA won’t be the same with her!  I love you Bootsie. Rest In Peace “Mom”. Thank you so much for loving me like a daughter when I needed you. Rhonda, Patti, love you both. Always. Praying for peace for you and yours. 

Rest in Peace Bootsie. Your work on earth is over job well done. Your sweet smile and big heart will be missed but not for gotten. Your family and friends celebrate your life and look forward to when we meet again in paradise. 

Bootsie was a beautiful person inside and outside.  Her lovely laughter and smile will be missed.

I don’t have any pictures but in the dozens of times I saw you and Ronnie y’all were always laughing and smiling. Your character and your kindness will follow you into heaven and your contagious smile 😊 will brighten heaven and will warm our souls throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.  She is Loved by many and will never be forgotten.  What a glorious day it will be when we meet on that beautiful shore and standing on the sea of glass , we sing the song of Moses and the Lamb.
