

On February 26, 2023 Mary Louise Dzuik Lerette peacefully departed this life at home surrounded by three generations of family members. She was born on January 20,1934 on a farm in Kosciusko, Texas and was the 6th of 10 children. She married John Edward Lerette in Kosciusko, Texas on January 7, 1956. They raised 6 children, John Edward, Henry Frank, Elaine Marie, Paul Joseph, Dennis James and Robert John in San Antonio, Texas. After raising her children, she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren for us while we worked. She was a devout catholic and an active member of the St Pius X parish and its women’s guild. She was a strong, selfless, faithful, generous, charitable, loving and caring woman. She always put others before herself. She prayed for all of us in our times of need. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years John Edward, her brothers Emil and George, her sisters Alice and Dorothy and her granddaughter Kristin. She is survived by 4 sisters and 1 brother, all 6 of her children, 14 grandchildren, 9 extended grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The Viewing/Rosary will be in San Antonio on Wednesday March 22 at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home located at 1701 Austin Highway from 6 to 9 PM. The rosary will start at 7 PM. The funeral mass will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday March 23 at St Pius X Church located at 3919 Harry Wurzbach Rd. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road on Thursday March 23 at 1:30 PM. A funeral reception will be held at the St. Pius X Monsignor Martin Family Center after the burial.
