Mary Escamilla McNees passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2007. She is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Born Mary T. Tijerina in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, she married Francisco Guillermo Escamilla on June 10, 1941 at San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio, TX.
Mary and Frank had six children: Sylvia Flores and husband, Alfredo; Frank Escamilla, Jr.; Patricia Escamilla; Yolanda Blanchard and husband, Faron; Virginia Carrola and husband, Victor; Elizabeth A. Gonzalez and husband, Robert; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Francisco died of cancer in 1959. Mary remained single for several years, keeping busy raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After several years, she met and married Rufus G. McNees on February 7, 1989 ~ Rufus passed away on March 9, 1997.
