

She lived in Pennsylvania until she joined the US Air Force in December 1969 which brought her to San Antonio, Texas for basic training.
There she met John Merriam, also in the US Air Force, and they were married the very next year. They spent their early married life in San Antonio where they started a family followed by several years in Chicago, IL where John began work for Delta Air Lines and they continued to grow their family.
John's work eventually brought them back to San Antonio in 1979 where she spent her remaining years, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Mary was known to be very talkative and outgoing, and she always had entertaining stories for anyone that would listen. She loved painting and decorating and often decorated the store windows during her time working at Drug Emporium. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, and visiting neighbors, friends, and folks who looked forward to her boxes of Christmas cookies during the holidays.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mayward Snyder and Francis Snyder (Crouse); and her brother Joseph Snyder. She is survived by her husband, John Merriam; her brother, Ed Snyder; and sister, Peggy Wilson.
She also leaves behind: son, William Merriam (Mary), daughter, Shelli Rangel, son, David Merriam (Ramona) and son, Daniel Merriam (Lawana); and grandchildren, Zion and Jude Rangel, Alex Merriam, and Aella Merriam.
She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her loved ones.
