

Carla was born in San Antonio on February 14, 1951. A graduate of Lee High School and the University of Texas with both a Bachelors and Masters in English Literature.
She loved basking in the light of her daughter Rebecca Moses. Both mother and daughter shared the same passion for the theater. She directed her daughter in numerous musicals based on Jewish Folklore. An accomplished playwrite and director, who was instrumental in revitalizing the Beth-El Players, her plays have won critical acclaim.
She was never more radiant then when she married the love of her life, Leonard Shefts.
Carla was preceded in death by her father, Gorman Silen and her mother, Maxine Glasberg. Brothers, Steve Silen, Richard Silen, sisters Deena Nichols and Leah Holdridge their families; Step father Jim Glasberg, mother in law Joyce Shefts, sister in laws Patti Small, Liz Shockman and their families, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will continue to keep her in their heart.
The family and friends of Carla wish to thank and acknowledge Dr. Drengler, Dr. Melo, Dr. Zandy Davis and Col. Alice Spoon, RN for their compassion and assistance in caring for Carla.
