

At age 10 she traveled by train to San Antonio where she lived most of her life. Red Cross volunteer in WWI, West End Methodist Church which became Woodlawn Methodist, Travis Park Methodist Church, Coker United Methodist Women and other church circles, Pilot Club International, Texas Bird Breeders and Fanciers Association and San Pedro Hills Women's Club were just a few of her affiliations.
Mary Lea had a zest for life, enjoyed 'going' and entertaining family and friends. She lived a life of doing for others. She was never too busy to bake for sick friends or new neighbors, crochet an afghan for a new baby or family member or volunteer for many projects at her church. Widowed at 64, she loved oil painting, ukulele, and hula dancing lessons while living with daughter Grace in Hawaii. She later became well known in local circles for her beautiful Texas bluebonnet landscape paintings. Mary Lea was gracious, vivacious, selfless, and in all aspects, a lovely lady. She is survived by daughters, Grace Swimme Nourie of San Antonio, and Anna Lea Swimme Faulk of Austin; son, Harry T. Swimme, Jr. and wife Ann of Austin; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and will be deeply missed by many friends. Predeceased by husband, Harry T. Swimme; parents, Russell and Grace Patterson Stabler; siblings, Ellicott and Henry H. Stabler, and Dorothy Stabler Saunders Graff.

COKER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
with Rev. John Gibbs and Rev. Robert M Allen officiating. Graveside service will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Harry T. Swimme, Jr., Tim Talbert, Chip Talbert, John Faulk, Richard Faulk, Charles Nourie, and Jim Kee. The Honorary pallbearers are the John Wesley and Questors Sunday school classes.
