

Mary Angela Trigilio, age 88, went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2010. She was born on June 1, 1921 in Warren, PA to Joseph & Frances Leto, who had emigrated to the United States from southern Italy in the early 1900’s. Mary lived her early life along with her five sisters and brother in Erie, Pa. She married Richard D. Trigilio, a career U.S. Army officer, in 1941, with whom she traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. They eventually settled in San Antonio in 1959.
Volunteering was a way of life for Mary. She helped at a Red Cross well baby clinic, taught Catholic education classes, and was involved in forming the Fort Sam Houston Thrift Shop, where she worked as a volunteer cashier for over 40 years. After the Thrift Shop closed in 2002, Mary volunteered to perform similar services for the Agape Ministry, working at their “Fig Leaf” thrift store on the Austin Highway.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dominic Trigilio, and sisters Jennie Frontino, Lucy Dwyer, and Theresa Zuck. She is survived by her sons, Richard F. Trigilio & wife Kathleen and Robert J. Trigilio & wife Carolyn; five grandchildren, Angela Mullenmeister & husband William, Gina Izer & husband James, Michael Trigilio, Joe Trigilio & wife Angelina, and Richard A. Trigilio; seven great grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Sofia, William, Zachary, Nathaniel and Eric; sisters Helen Bevilacqua and Rose Farak, and brother Joseph Leto.
Visitation will be 6 P.M., Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 A.M., Monday, May 24, 2010 at Dodd Field Chapel, Ft. Sam Houston. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com
