She was born to the late Ismael Diaz and Margaret Diaz, on February 13, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas. Gloria graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1966.
She was married to Jimmy T. Urdialez in 1968, and they lived together in San Antonio for thirty years before relocating to Warner Robins, Georgia. Retiring after 35 years of civil service she was able to return home to San Antonio to care for her first grandchild in 2003. Gloria is now survived by her husband of fifty-four years of marriage, their three daughters: Christine M. Urdialez; Genevieve D. Hernandez (Spouse, Mario Hernandez); and Jacqueline D. Urdialez (Spouse, Kimberly DuQue Urdialez). She is also survived by her two grandchildren: Gabriel T. Hernandez and Michael R. Hernandez. Gloria was also survived by her five siblings: Ismael Robert Diaz, Lydia Ann Szczepan, Delia Byrn, Richard Diaz, and MaryAnn Cordova; her nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
Gloria was a devoted Christian, loving mother and spouse, wonderful co-worker, amazing friend, and avid churchgoer. She passed her appreciation of floral, cooking, baking, and crafting to all her children. Her example of living a charitable life, was one to be emulated. Always putting the needs of others before her own. Gloria lived a simple and humble life but her impact was felt by many. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Her strong faith in God was her support that helped her overcome her illness for over ten years. Even as her health declined, she never once let her disposition be anything but positive and loving.
Gloria was a true example of Gods love, as she chose to share HIS word in hope to inspire and encourage all around her. She spoke of Gods gospel because she knew in doing so, God, in turn, would be with us always.
