Mason Richardson, age 26, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. When Mason was born, his parents Mark and Margot knew he completed their family. He was the perfect addition along with his fourteen-month older brother Marcus. Mason was a beautiful baby and child, always waking up with a smile on his face and in a great mood! A pleasure to be around - so inquisitive and seeking answers to our world. Mason participated in sports and music as he grew up. He also had a great love for the outdoors and had many adventures hunting and fishing. He ultimately developed a passion for intricate cooking as he grew older. The Richardson family did everything together as Mason and his brother grew up; the memories they made are both abundant and exceptional!
Mason graduated from SACS High School in 2014. He had many friends that enjoyed spending time together. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UTSA in 2019. Mason was very active in the Engineering School, participating in annual competitions and other Activities. He helped lead the team to Second place overall in the National Student Steel Bridge Competition and First Place in the Ingenuity Award in 2018. While attending UTSA he met Rebecca Cano who became his girlfriend. He worked summer jobs and was a diligent student - pushing himself to exceed above others. Mason was very intelligent and had a strong work ethic; yet remained a joy to be around!
He strived to land an engineering position at CP&Y upon graduation and his prayers were answered when they offered him a job! He joined the Transportation team and participated on many important Projects. Mason had incredible work ethic and was a natural leader. He also took pride in helping mentor teammates. Mason developed strong relationships with many co-workers. He loved working at CP&Y and this was extremely important to him!
Mason will be dearly missed by all; he is survived by his parents, Mark and Margot Richardson; and his brother, Marcus Richardson. The family will receive friends from 1PM - 2PM on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
