

Melissa Ann Frankland, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 31. She leaves behind her husband, Peter; her son, Durand; and her daughter, London.
Melissa was born on August 30, 1984 in Stanton, Texas to father, Dale Walker and mother, Sarah Brewster. She grew up in a large, loving family with many brothers and sisters. She joined the Air Force in 2004 where she met the love of her life, Peter. They married later that year on November 17th in Aviano, Italy. Melissa honorably retired from the Air Force in 2008 and had her first child, Durand in San Antonio, Texas in 2009. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she attended the University of Colorado and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Science. She worked as a Radiation Therapist at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Shortly after graduating she had her second child, London. Peter and Melissa moved to New Braunfels, Texas in September 2015.
Melissa is survived by her husband and children, as well as her father Dale and step-mother T.J. Walker, mother Sarah Brewster, her father and mother-in-law Denny and Sandra Briggs, siblings, Kerri Wakefield, Christi Cedillo, Kristen Pierce, Shana Grimes, Adam Walker, Dillon Walker, Bruce Briggs, Terence Frankland, Kelly Hagerman; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by grandparents, Willie B. and Joyce Walker, Robert and Sarah Barton.
Melissa will be remembered for her strength, kind and loving heart, bright and beautiful smile, her willingness to always help others, and the ability to light up every room she entered.
Those who desire may make memorial contributions to Melissa's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Visitation and Services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Porter Loring North Mortuary at 2102 North Loop 1604, East, San Antonio, TX 78232

Procession to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for graveside service will immediately follow.
