

Col. Michael M. Conrad Born May 19, 1918 in Bryn Mawr, PA. died January 10, 2008 in San Antonio, TX. Col. Conrad began his long military career as an enlisted medic on 29 March 1941 and retired on 1 July 1973. Commissioned in World War II, Col. Conrads career continued through the Korean conflict and Vietnam War.
His last assignment was Hospital Administrator of Wilford Hall USAF Hospital, Lackland AFB, Texas. After retiring, Col. Conrad continued making the world a brighter place with his love of gardening. His gardens are a place of solace and his daylilies reflected the vibrancy that surrounded him throughout his life. His front yard in San Antonio, Texas was a National Hemerocallis Daylilies Display Garden.
He is survived by his daughters: Tacy Elizabeth Parks and her husband Raymond C. Parks and their daughter Molly Serene Auletta and her children Serena Michelle Carter, Richard David Carter and Tamara Renae Auletta; daughter Dr. Li Jia Emily and her husband Siyuan Ding and their children Yunhan Ding Flame and Yunyi Ding Bill; Caroline Athey and her husband Michael Athey; and his granddaughter Clementine Emily Sandison. Col Conrad was predeceased by his wife Mary Evans Conrad, his sister Jane Conrad Carhart and his daughter Miskey Sandison.
