I enjoyed talking to Mike when he would come into our office. His laugh was contagious! We always spoke about our kids and how much they've grown up.  My condolences to his family and his daughters. He will be truly missed!

I am totally shocked. Mike was an account executive in the Mortgage business that I worked with for several years as a mortgage loan processor. He was such a great guy and gone too soon. I know this is a shock to all. I pray Gods arms of comfort to surround the family. One day we will meet again in Glory. You will be missed Mike. Love to Cher as well. Patricia Kemp

The passing of Mike is such a shock, he was loved by so many. 

Always supporting others, I first met Mike when we worked together at First Preference, where he taught me so much about being an account representative. 

Mike was serious, sensitive, kindhearted and never without his blinding smile and big hearted laugh. 

Golf tournaments won’t be the same without you.  

I imagine that you are playing on heavens team with some of the greats. 

We, I, miss you so much. 

The loss of Mike Kilgore has been a shock, gone too soon, too young and still had so much living to do.  Prayers for our niece Cher and their daughters, Lauren and Devon.  My memories of Mike involve all our "flamily" get togethers where Mike was always happy with his contagious smile.  He loved to visit one on one in a genuine fashion and loved to cook for us all.    Mike was a good sport and game for anything.   He had a big heart, a generous spirit and a positive outlook.  Mike will be greatly missed.

I knew and loved Mike for over 20 years; before he was a mortgage professional. I met Cher first and Mike was always part of the mortgage brokers group. His infectious smile and bold laugh were his "signature". We had such a fun time in San Francisco one year at a company conference. He was a great and loving dad and an all-around good man. He also gave good bear hugs. 

I was saddened with the news of losing him. He will be missed. 

Mike was one of a kind. And when I say kind; he was very KIND. He loved life, he loved deeply, he loved playing games and was very loyal to those he loved. Steve and I loved him from the moment we met him when Cher brought him home to meet us for the first time.

He was a loving and wonderful Father to Lauren and Devon and a great brother to Kasey.

I am still shocked and sad that he is gone and will miss him until we meet again.

He always had the greatest attitude, smile and laugh of anyone I have ever met and will ever know. 

Our life was blessed by him and we were fortunate enough to have him in our family.

May you rest in peace and I hope that in Heaven you got your "Hole in One!"




I worked with Michael at his current job. I was his Account manager and he without a doubt is the best Account Executive I have worked with. He was not only my colleague but he was my personal friend. He had a way of making me feel like we were a team and going to take on the world. He always made me laugh and never got discouraged. He loved his daughters dearly and always talked about them. He was so excited for their trip over Christmas. This week has been very tough trying to help with his brokers and knowing that some of them have been friends with him and his family for years.  Everyone says the same thing that he just was a wonderful man and was always happy. Nothing I didn't know already but he truly impacted everyone in a good way. He loved to cook and always shared his secrets. I am at a loss and dont know how I will move on without him but I know he would want me to continue on. May you rest in Peace my friend. I hope you are smiling up in heaven. I wish I could be there to say my final goodbye but the funds just are not there to fly out to you. Goodbye my friend!

Mike was an amazing brother to me and an even greater friend.  His love for his family was infinite and those who knew him well would agree that his affable nature could win anyone over immediately.  Mike nearly always had a smile, was cheery, and would laugh at almost everything! He had humor in his life and love for everyone in his heart.  I introduced Mike to many friends and colleagues over the years.  All enjoyed his company and had nothing but the nicest things to say about him. Words cannot convey how much he is missed by me and our family, but I know that one day we will meet again.  Until then my brother, may you Rest In Peace. Love always - Kasey.

Mike- you were so loved and will be missed. Because of you, I play golf. Not well, but I play. You always picked my club for me too. Known as my "ringer" on every team we ever played together in the last 9 years. You and your girls took me in, treated me like family when I would come to SA. I remember you driving us to the valley so I wouldn't have to cold call alone.  A true Gentleman, a proud father, a great friend, a contagious smile, stylish, generous and kind; you my friend are missed, loved and cherished.

I always really liked Mike. He was genuine, as well as a great audience, because he smiled and laughed at everything you said. Mike was also pretty wise ...  he gave  me some advise years ago, but it took me many years to realize he was 100% correct.  We will all miss Mike ...  a good guy & a good friend. I just hope his Golf score is better in Heaven!

Mike, I will always remember the special holidays our families shared and the wonderful dinners Kasey and I had with you and Jeselle! I had so much fun making Thanksgiving gravy with you last year and you truly saved the day with your passion for cooking. ❤️  I don’t think I will be able to make gravy again without your smile and all the laughs we had researching recipes and cooking. You always called me “sis” and I loved that nickname you gave me.  I’ll forever miss your smile and kind heart. Michael we loved when you would come into our office, a sure laugh and a demonstration of your faith was always certain. You genuinely cared about people and always looked out for others best interest!  May you rest in peace.  My sincerest condolences go out to your family.

I have followed Michael throughout his mortgage industry career choices.  He was the reason I would consider a new lending source. There was no comparison when it came to customer service, but moreover a genuine caring for not only the broker, but the customer. He will not only be missed personally but leaves a void in the mortgage industry. Michael I salute you. You had an incomparable laugh and a beautiful heart. I hope to see you again someday. I have know Mike for years—-he was a great friend. We worked together on many golf tournaments and many lobby trips to DC.  Mike was the life of any party—always a smile, a laugh or a great idea. 

Cher, I am so sorry for you and the girls. I am sure you feel like a light has gone out. I will pray for your family. 

Mike may your tee times be many and your fairways be clear!

2. La Griglia was our favorite restaurant back in 1994 in Houston, fine dining, expensive champagne, limo’s and shopping sprees were this man’s ammo. Men, take a lesson from him on courtship because this man was the best at it
3. We bought our first car together in 1994 and it’s the same model he has today
4. We were married and had a gorgeous wedding reception at The Plaza Club first class all the way January 13, 1996
5. We had Lauren-we would stare at her for hours. We were so in love and so happy. Such proud parents. Mike was a believer but he says when he looked at Lauren his faith was unshakeable
6. He taught Lauren to swim in the first house we bought. We had some great times in that pool
7. Devon was born in 1999 and they adored each other. She is his “mini me.” He bought her everything-the water slide was probably the most memorable. He was a great Dad.
8. He could grill all night briskets for special occasions, got great at grilling chicken, but our all time fave was his fried backstrap-not even Momma’s compares. Someone mentioned his Momma’s potato salad he made too and that was also the best potato salad ever
9. His favorite place in the states was NYC. We stayed at The Plaza, the Waldorf, ate at the fanciest restaurants, danced at the best clubs. I felt like royalty. He was very giving and generous and bought me nice clothes. He loved to dress me up. He’d walk into a place and even if we didn’t have a reservation he was such the charmer that he’d get us into whatever VIP area there was and I mean the top of the top. It was admirable.
10. When we heard good news such as a promotion we would do a “Happy Dance”. He’d laugh and smile and you couldn’t help it even it was a bad day if he giggled you were laughing too eventually. That goofy grin and goofy laugh was contagious. Those who knew him would tell you this is what was unique and what they will remember most about him. 

I met Mike the weekend he was marrying my niece, Cher.  I was living in Seattle at the time, and my daughter Andi and I flew down for the wedding.  We met them and my family for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Riverwalk.  It seems like yesterday.  My first impression was that he was fun, playful, smart and hardworking, a good balance for a successful life.  His laugh was contagious, he alleviated all my fears that night, wondering if he was “worthy” of my precious niece.  He fit right in to our crazy dramatic family. He loved us all unconditionally and we loved him for it. When he and Cher went their own way years later, we still thought of him as family.  We shared many good times together and he will be missed.  Rest In Peace Mike Kilgore, I hope you dance a jig with Saint Paddy this St. Patrick’s Day.

I was shocked to hear this sad news.  Michael was a wonderful man and I know that he will be missed by many.  I will keep everyone in my prayers.  

Mike was a great colleague and friend. We shared many funny moments in this crazy business of mortgage for almost 20 years. I will always remember his smile and laughter.  It was truly a blessing to have Mike as a friend.  He will be missed everyday. 

To the family, my prayers are with you through this difficult time. I am comforted that he is in the hands of the Lord.
