Michael Anthony Montalvo

Michael Anthony Montalvo, 79, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on May 18, 2024, at The Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 11, 1944, in Isabela, Puerto Rico to Julio and Maria Montalvo.

Michael served in the Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Administration Man Second Class and was honorably discharged from active duty on August 9, 1968. After his service, he earned an associate degree in Business Administration and Management from Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas. He spent over three decades as a dedicated traveling salesman, owning his own business, Mike’s Distributing, LLC. He was known for building lasting relationships with clients, exceptional sales skills, and extensive knowledge of the products he sold.

In addition to his professional achievements, Michael had a passion for playing billiards, and singing classic songs at Hidden Tavern where he brought joy and entertainment to all who knew him. His signature song was “My Way” by Frank Sinatra, which he performed with heartfelt emotion.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Nora Falcon Montalvo, and his children, Lisa M. Sananikone, and Cheryl B. Martinez. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew A. Sananikone, and Victoria C. Sananikone.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the medical staff who provided support and care for Michael with special thanks to Dr. Lisa Cabrera, Nurse Bruno, and Dr. Joseph Gonzalez, as well as the VA medical team. We also appreciate the friends from Hidden Tavern, our neighbors, Juan Carlos and everyone in La Noria in Laredo, Texas, Peter Schmitt in Buffalo, New York, and Keith, Al, and the staff at Wencar, Inc. in Corpus Christi for their support and friendship.

Michael and his wife cherished a special bond with Cathy M. Rodriguez, loving her like a daughter and reflecting the family ties they built together.

Michael has now taken the stage in heaven, singing for God and the angels with the same passion and joy that he shared with us on Earth.
