With hearts full of love and faith, we celebrate the life of Michael Louis Moreno, who was called home to the comforting embrace of our Lord on December 2, 2025. Born on March 22, 1990, in San Antonio, Texas, to Maria Esther Gomez Moreno and Juan Louis Moreno. From the moment Michael entered this world, he came with a fighter’s spirit and a heart full of light. As the baby of the family, he was a precious blessing—deeply cherished, endlessly loved, and celebrated for the strength and grace that marked his very first breath.
From a young age, Michael carried within him a spark of creativity and curiosity. A gifted artist, he expressed himself through drawing—capturing moments, dreams, and ideas with a vivid imagination. When his hands weren’t sketching, they were cast a line into the waters he loved. Fishing brought him peace, joy, and a deeper connection to God’s creation, especially when he turned the day’s catch into a shared meal for those he loved.
A proud graduate of Lanier High School’s Class of 2008, Michael’s kindness, humor, and boundless energy left a mark on everyone he met. He trained in boxing for a time and cherished the excitement of MMA. His passions were many—comics, video games, collecting memorabilia, and the electric atmosphere of hardcore metal concerts, where he felt alive in the music and movement of the crowd.
Yet, above all earthly joys, Michael’s heart belonged to his family. He loved with intention, without hesitation, and with a tenderness that revealed the purity of his soul. Time spent with his nieces and nephew brought out his gentlest side; they were his pride, his happiness, and a reminder of the beauty of life. Michael lived generously—never selfish, always giving, always present.
We trust that Michael now rests in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones who journeyed before him: his grandparents, Virginia and Irineo Gomez, and Francis Ramos; his uncles, Jessie Gonzalez, Ray Gonzalez, and Angel Huerta. His dear friends, Miguel Moreno, Armando Ayala and Efrain Salas. His cherished pets, Ivan, Bella, Oreo, Lima, Jade, Stickers, and Kai. May they welcome him into the light of heaven.
Michael’s legacy continues in the hearts of those who remain: his parents, Juan and Maria “Estela”; his brother, John; his sister-in-law, Michelle; his beloved nieces, Miliana and Marianni; and his nephew, Josué. He also leaves behind his faithful pets—Ms. Walters, Aries, Daisy, and Chloe—and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever carry his memory.
Though his earthly presence is no longer with us, Michael’s spirit lives on in every life he touched. His laughter, his love, his creativity, and his gentle heart remain gifts we will hold close until we meet again.
May Michael’s soul rest in eternal peace, wrapped in God’s everlasting love.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
